GF670 & filter - custom-made?

Hi!
Yesterday in Tokyo I could briefly handle the GF670. Oh, very nice, I have to say, and very tempting. I am aware of the filter issue and that no conventional filter can be left on the lens when closed. I would get a MF system for b+w work only, but for use in places where removing and attaching the filter or hood is very inconvenient/impossible.

I was wondering if one could grind down the rim of a 58mm filter until there are only threads left, and fixate the glas on the thread with glue...this may be thin enough. Has anyone attempted that?

Best,
Peter

IMO the GF670w is nicer. No fragile bellows or filter issue. Do not fold up and the lens covers a wider field of course - but the latter is a plus in my book. I played around with both in FUJIFILM showroom in Tokyo Midtown but never used one with film.
Sorry - can't help you with advice on your questions.

The only thing I had to do was grinding off a UV filter's front rim.
When the filter is screwed on the lens it protrudes about 1 mm from the lens.
But that's fine to fold the camera without any problem.
