Bitten by a CLE
Hanging around here has resulted in myself heading back to film, not completely 'cause I have an r-d1 and a k10d but after a gas attack I picked up a very clean CLE and a lens set. After a test roll of Tmax that turned out ok, I leave tomorrow for Thailand on a week long business trip. The epson and minolta are going along, the pentax stays at home.
I suppose the next logical step is a tank and a scanner.

What's the scanner for? Get an enlarger!

Congrats on the CLE, an excellent little camera and congrats for coming back to film! Yes, a developing tank and a scanner should be your next immediate acquisitions.

I agree with Vics...
B&W film is for wet printing.
Hey, don't hit me...
Instead of scanning B&W film, I'd shoot digital B&W and digitally process to my liking... Faster both for internet and "digital" paper...
Wet printing is fun and easy! Congratulations on your CLE!
Cheers,
Juan

All of Vivian Maier's negatives were scanned, is that make her work look digital? The answer is a emphatic NO. http://vivianmaier.blogspot.com/
Scanning is just another of way of enlarging the negative. At some point in the future there is always the option of wet printing. With digital, its digital forever.

Hi GSNfan,
I'm glad in your case you found an emphatic answer on how you should behave photographically...
In my case I really enjoy playing the same game B&W photographers have been playing since the 1800's, though you can never tell when you'll decide to jump into a recent game...
For pro work I shoot digital and scan film without regrets, but for my personal work, the one I care for the most, yet I consider wet printing the best and most interesting and beautiful option...
Cheers,
Juan

I'd go for a digital CL, but either would be really cool. I might have to settle for an EPL-1 or 2 though.

WOW! Thanks for the tipoff to Vivian Maier. Had not read/heard the story before. Amazing. Worth the price of admission to this thread.
Thanks again.
