jcrutcher - sucks about the stolen gear Igor Camera has two for sale, but they are pricey.

Thank you Tim I'll reach out to him, I've bought from him before and was satisfied. I miss the lens as much as I miss the M9!

No problem. I actually bought my 75 Summilux from him a year ago.

Thanks Helen, JSU

JSU - I use an M9 and process all images thru LR4. For B/W I always use NIK Silver Efex. I would say that over 90% of my images that go thru Silver Efex I first select a film filter that I like and adjust from there. For instance, on the last one of the girl I used Ilford Delta and then cranked up the contrast and reduced the grain. On the swing I used TMAX 400 and brought out the shadows....kept the grain, thought it was appropriate. 99% of my color goes thru LR4 ONLY. Speaking of, LR4 I have found to be a HUGE improvement (especially in shadow detail) over LR3 when working with Leica DNG files. Worth the upgrade.

Here are a few more 75 Lux shots from a local cemetery......

rsolti - nice photos. One question though - there are lots and lots of green edges in many of the bokeh highlights. Is it the lens or are they digital artefacts? I have seen similar "effects" from my 5D2 (which was one of the reasons I went back to film actually).

philipus - I'm pretty sure it's the 75 Summilux in this case. I seem to remember seeing it in some of my film shots with this lens. I just don't think it's fully corrected for chromatic aberrations.

Philip thanks...as Tim mentioned, yes, it is the lens. You will see this happen in film as well. If you want a more perfectly corrected lens your choice should be the 75 Cron. That is a true APO lens and should not exhibit the chromatic aberrations such as 75 Lux. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder .

I will say, I have also in the past used the pre-ASPH 50 Lux and the 75 Lux seems to be far better corrected. Not APO quality, but somewhere in between

Ok I see. I don't use 75mm because I have a 90 and never saw the need. This thread is has the potential to change my mind

I really like the first image of the three you posted.

I have a 50 Lux LTM which I'm quite happy with. I will have to shoot a comparison with my 50 asph.

Nice photo's. It's a great lens to shoot in a crowd like a parade. Good job!
