eBay is expensive. I sell a lot of stuff on eBay, and I pay them nearly a thousand dollars a month for the privilege. But, I do reach a very wide market, yesterday I shipped boxes to buyers in Austria, Estonia, India, and Singapore.
Listing fees are no big deal, but I pay about 7% in final value fees, and the fee also applies to shipping costs for domestic sales. Re-listing an item is not free, I have to pay an additional 20 cents each time I re-list an item.
Another benefit of eBay is buyer and seller protection. It is not as easy to get ripped off as it once was.
I have yet to sell anything at the RFF classifieds, though I have bought, sold, and traded gear with members here. $7 is not a bad deal,
