ZI Forums closing down

Posting this in the Brian Sweeney forum because Brian contributed to the Zeiss-Ikon forum a lot and has some pictorials up there on how to disassemble sonnars.

Received this message two hours ago:

Dear buzzardkid

I regret to announce that I am closing the Zeiss User Forum at www.ziforums.com due to inactivity and expense. Thanks to those who contributed and participated.

I apologize for the mass email, and you will not receive another email regarding the Ziforums. I just wanted to give everyone a chance to download any content (images, text) they want to keep. I'll leave the site up for another week.

Best wishes,
Amin Sabet
So, should you want to get save pictorials on fixing a Sonnar into Leica specs, this is the time. Not sure whether new members can still register, but I'm going to download those pictorials myself so you can ask me. I won't put them up online, since they aren't mine to share.

Received the same message. I also saw that Brian, who I had enlisted as a contact in Flickr, deleted his membership this week over there.

Now that's a shame.

So Brian deleted his account at ZI or flickr?
I just saw him contribute in a thread at PN.

Times, they are a changing...

Thanks for the heads-up, Johan.

Ugh, I hate PN but I do miss Brian...
