In fairness, these are all notably terrific lenses.

Two of them are stopped down at least two stops from wide open, and the others are probably the best medium-speed 35's ever designed.

And the images are less than 1 megapixel JPEGs – I'm amazed we see differences at all!

OP, could you tell me what's lens#1 in secret?
I am gonna buy them all tonight...

I have a feeling that the price of lens#1 is gonna spike by tomorrow.

I would go with #1 what ever it is. My second choice would be #4 as I like the color rendition

They are indeed close.
#s 1 and 4 seem the sharpest- In the first series, around 'Wagonetti'
In the second series #4 seems to have the most 3-Dimensional look.
Therefore-
1. C-Biogon
2. Nokton
3. Pre-Asph
4.Summarit

I'm guessing the CV 35/1.2 is No. 1 and Biogon 35/2.8 is No. 4.

#1 for me. Smoothest bokeh in the details I compared. No idea what it could be, though.

Interesting, the bokeh comments. I voted #1 as the C-Biogon for the pic's bokeh and contrast, both of which I found superior in the C-Biogon I owned. Of course, I'll shortly be proved wrong.

I like #2 the best. It seems the lowest in contrast to my eyes.

Sorry to keep everyone waiting I've been asleep over here in the UK while you've continued to speculate

The results are:

1. C Biogon
2. Summilux pre
3. Summarit
4. Nokton ver 2

Maybe as was suggested I'll do a black and white comparison too when I get a chance.

Interesting - lots of people liked image 1 and thought it was the C-Biogon and they were right. This is by far the clearest result that I can recall from this sort of exercise.

Yes good call I will try to keep the framing accuracy tighter next time. A tripod will be used by me with an M body for the first time

fantastic thread! I couldn't discern very much over the image other than the slight differences in out of focus areas and a little bit of flatness in the horizon shot... there isn't too much standing in-between these lenses at 2.8.... it'll be sub 2 where it counts
