Cheap Camera, Cheap Film, Cheap Processing, Not too shabby?

Hi All,

So I've been meaning to sell off some of my old thrift store finds - so I went out to test a Petri Color 35E "fully automatic" today just to see if it was working. I had some Giant Eagle (made in japan grocery store brand - fuji I imagine) film so off I went. I then had them developed at the drug store. Well... these aren't award winning shots - but the lens looks really sharp to me and the color is super bright. These are scans from the prints from my canon mp530 (basically a glorified fax machine) so they look a tad better in person. But I htought some of you might be interested in this. I know the manual version (no "E") has some love - but for a "point and shoot", albeit with metal construction and zone focusing, I was impressed. I think I'll keep it - the battery cost me more than the camera!

So is it just me? Or am I drunk on low expectations?

Best,

Dow
