Leica M And R Compendium

Dear Johathan,
I am new to the Rangefinderforum community and also new the the use of Rangefinder cameras (Leica cameras) . Recently I have bought both your Leice Systems R and M compendiums and would like to let you know that I am leraning very very much from these books. I have started to be involved in photography, as a big passion, a couple of years ago, starting with digital (Canon EOS system) my late father was a very talented, amateur photographer and he owned a good photographic equipment, including Leica, Asahi Pentax, Yashica cameras and lenses but all this stuff remained almost abandoned in a big cabinet, after my father passed away, as I believed these cameras and lenses were too ....complicated to me to used, having started my photographic adventures with the easy digital system. But I was wrong and now I have started to used my late father equipment everithing is working so perfectly and I am also planning to buy a LEICA M6 and a LEICA R4 and this is why I looked for your Compendiums and started to read them with a great attention and willing to learn, as a matter of fact, I am learning a lot.
I do really hope that you will publish in a near future up-dated versions of these books so important for any Leica lovers but I have to say, for everyone interested in photography.
Thanks a lot with my best wishes

A new edition of the Leica-M Compendium is being considered and the work advances step by step.

Back in 1995 when I first thought there was a chance of fulfilling an ambition to own an M camera, I bought the Leica M Compendium by Jonathan Eastland. Prior to (finally) joining the ranks of M-owners with an M9, I re-read the book, mainly for info on lenses. I still find it an excellent book to read for many reasons and wondered if there is any intention to publish an update that would include the M9.
