Will the Leica M9 be at LHSA in Seattle?
Its no secret on the internet that many are predicting the Leica M9 will be officially announced during September 2009.
If that's true, you can bet the M9 will be on display at the LHSA (Leica Historical Society of America) meeting in Seattle Oct 7 to 11 where top Leica officials are usually on hand to cheer on the faithful. See meeting details at http://www.lhsa.org/events/default.aspx
Don't care about the M9?
You can also rent the Leica S2 for the day at LHSA.
Yes, you do have to be a LHSA member to attend -- so join up!

Seattle, WA sky in October = Rochester, NY sky most of year = 18% Gray Card. Why on earth would I want to take a system such as the S2 out to shoot that? Send me down south a bit, perhaps by the coast with sand, sun, bikinis.....

haha, I grew up in Rochester and now live in Seattle, so far it is sunnier here in the rainy city.

No full frame M9 until Photokina 2010 at the earliest.

Shhhhhhhhh!
Don't let the world know the rain here is a farce.
Actually it's not a farce for Nov-Feb but, October can be stellar.

M9 or no M9, Seattle is a very (to me at least) photogenic place, and LHSA meetings are (again, to me, and I've been on plenty) always well-planned and great fun. Unfortunately this year isn't good for us to make such a trip though. However as a consolation to myself, I will put the monetary value into my Waiting-for-an-M9-Demo fund

It turns out the M9 and S2 will definitely be at the Seattle LHSA meeting, along with much of Leica's top brass to show them off.
This is a great opportunity for those who can make the trip!

Yes, the M9 was there.
but the turnout for the meeting was light,
and the program was not of the highest quality -- a common LHSA problem after Rolf Fricke (Leica expert and founding LHSA member) was inexplicably removed as program director several years ago.
