I know of a well known Australian photographer who has done extensive work in Afghanistan who uses 2 film Leica M Bodies and 2 Leica lens and black & white film and his work is excellent - Stephen Dupont. I have not met him personally but I have attended a few workshops by him.

I know all use film rangefinders for work (leica, mamiya, blad/fuji, graphic), along with whatever else they think will get the result they need. All work on long term projects as well as contributing to spot news coverage.

This is my first post on this forum, so if I'm doing this wrong I apologize.
I've been a photographer for almost twenty years now, working photographer that is, and I use the M Leica all the time. In fact, I'm using it more today, for all my work, than ever before. I think the industry, at the moment, is being driven by the tech companies, who have the money for advertising, so much of what you hear is solely about the benefits of a digital only workflow. While this new equipment is great for certain things, it is not the best solution for every need, contrary to what you might hear. I've got several different camera systems, I use on a daily/weekly basis, one is digital, the rest are analog. Clients want a photographer they can respect and one that has a point of view. If that point of view happens to be analog, film M, then so be it.

No need to apologise. I think thats a very relevant post, particularly the bit in bold. You surely can't be using the wrong kit or medium if you are achieving your goals and your audience like what you do.

There seems to be confusion as per the topic of this thread.
Some points to clear up.
This thread is not bound to Leicas only. Any photographer who is creating interesting work on cameras outsde the norm so to speak.
This thread is not about the definition of a "pro".
Thia thread is not (anywhere that I can see) saying that ANY camera makes you better at anything.
This thread is about tipping our hats to the men and women who have the guts to use the cameras we are fans of to make beautiful pictures.
It is not about the right kit, the wrong kit or whether or not your kit will make you HCB.
So sarcasm aside, any actual contributions fellas?

emeraphoto, its surely not about those who 'have the guts to use the cameras we love' but the pros (whatever your definition) who regard the cameras we love as the right tool for the job (otherwise they would not be using them).
