olympus t32 flash- calculation panel missing- usable??

Hi everyone,

I've just bought an Olympus T32 flash for £5 from a charity shop and it seems to be working fine, only problem is that the calculation panel is missing. Do you think it's still usable? I have an OM10 and was wondering if I can still use the flash on the auto setting? Will the flash automatically configure the aperture/shutter speed etc?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Lena

Lena,

Not sure that the T32 works in complete auto with the OM10 anyway, but here's link to a T32 manual if it helps. It's a link to a pdf at the bottom of the page.

Good find and good luck.

The T32 will function in all modes without the panel - all the panel does is provide a reference to the switch settings in manual mode, and force the switch all the way to the left when in Full Auto mode. I'm pretty sure the OM-10 doesn't provide full OTF auto flash but the flash ready LED in the v/f will function normally without the panel. The OM-10's shutter speed will be set to 1/60 automatically when the flash is connected and switched on. Hope that helps.

Regards
Richard

One of the official Olympus repairers, Luton Cameras (http://www.lutoncameras.co.uk/) has the calculator panels advertised for sale at £5. If you go to their home page and then follow the link on the left hand side to "Shop", they're under the "Accessories" section. Provided it's working properly, £10 total for a complete T32 would still be a bargain!
