Digital Leica M8 / M8.2 / M9 / M-E /Mono / M10 aka "M" Discussions about the Leica M8 /M 8.2 / M9 / M9-P/ M-E / M Monochrom / M10 aka "M": Leica digital M mount rangefinder cameras. Naming the new digital M the "Leica M" is VERY unfortunate as it will only confuse newbies with other Leica M cameras of the the past. Happily there is room for confusion with only the past 59 years of Leica M production ... since Leica introduced the Leica M system in 1953. All Hail for the Leica Marketing Department learning Leica M history!

Info: Good price for an Elmarit-m 90mm f2.8?

Hi, I have been offered a like new condition Elmarit-m 90mm f2.8 serial 3695845 for $690 and was wondering if this is a fair price? The lens was bought new by a professional photographer in 1999, used for one shoot and then stored until now.
Thanks.

Rob.

Mine was a fraction less than that a couple of years ago so, assuming ex+ condition as a minimum, I'd say it's plenty fair.

FWIW I rate mine as one of the best lenses I've ever owned and use it daily.

Pretty good considering it's the best 90/2.8 out there. The 90/2.8 Hexanon performs almost as well but is a little smaller and typicaly goes for about $500-$550.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I went ahead and bought the lens and will pick it up on Saturday. Hopefully the weather will be sunny in Vancouver so I can give it a work out and I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance.
