40mm Voigtlander Nokton f1.4 on Pen E-P1

Oooh. That does look like it belongs there, doesn't it?

Not had time to shoot much with it, I just nipped out the front door and took a test shot but i'll hopefully do a bit more tomorrow.

If you click on the picture, you'll see what the Pen looks like with the 15mm and 75mm Voigtlander lenses on.

After the weekend, I should have a bunch of pictures shot with those lenses too.

It does look good, but anything longer than 25mm would be a waste imho. WA RF lenses excel at being wide angle.

It'll be a nice low-light portrait lens.
The 75mm should make a nice tele.
Then there's the 15mm, which should be decent for general stuff.



Just a shame I've got the original with no filter thread.

I'd love Voigtlander to release some MFT mount prime lenses. That would be cool

Has the details on getting MF assist up using these mechanical lenses.

Works great and better with anything old and mechanical. Excellent colour rendering with Leitz glass.

Update, while the weather was not being at its finest this morning I did manage to take a few shots on my way in to work. focusing was pretty easy even at f1.4, especially once I'd found a good way of holding the camera while I turned the focus ring.
For general use I'd probably just zone focus with a good hyperfocal range, and only focus if I wanted to use less depth of field on something.

Wide open there's kind of a soft glow around bright objects, visible when you're focusing on the zoomed view, but also in the picture itself.

I was shooting Raw+Jpeg so I might stick up a jpeg at lunchtime if it's raining too much to go out taking more pictures.

Taken a few shots today with the 40mm Nokton on the Pen.






Soft at wider apertures, and wide open brighter objects develop kind of a glow.
I'll probably try the 15mm and 75mm lenses I have over the weekend.

The only glow which is know to be an undisputed fact is the Leica glow. But can you tell if the glow you're seeing is the Voigtlander glow or the Olympus glow?
