Photokina 2008 starts Tuesday 23 September

Photokina 2008 starts Tuesday 23 September.

A little over a week from now.

I'm waiting for Cosina to announce new Voigtlander products, and for Fuji to announce that their 6x7 folder is coming to market.

What else?

I'm interested in that Fuji 6x7 folder too. That's a commitment to film by Fuji.

Would the announcement of ektar 100 suffice?

kodak says right on their page that ektar 100 is ideal for scanning. pretty much every new c41 film has been optimized for scannability.

This will be a good year for photokina but I think those of us in the rangefinder camp still are not going to get our early christmas.

I'm mainly waiting for the Canon 5D replacement. Also, possible digital RF from Nikon (unlikely).

people,
Canon already announced the 5D mark II, I thought that is the replacement of 5D

Who is volunteering to be RFF reporter in Photokina?

Kiu

I suppose Carl Zeiss will be there with their new manual focus lenses in EOS mount.

A clarification from Fujifilm that the 6x7 folder will be marketed outside Japan would be nice! But I doubt it'll happen.

Maybe a new DSLR from Pentax, plus some more cool lenses?

Oh yes, some new Voigtlander from Cosina!

Quoting Stephen Gandy on CVUG mailing list:

Well Folks,

I am off to Photokina in Cologne Germany which opens next week to see
all the newest and "bestest."

Apparently there will be at least one new digital Nikon Rangefinder.
What is not clear is whether it will be medium format or Leica M format,
or even if Nikon will produce them in both formats.

The 120 film 6x7 Fuji Rangefinder made by Cosina is a surprising fact.

Time will tell what other Rangefinder surprises await.

Stephen

That Nikon medium format rangefinder rumour is the most improbable rumour I've ever heard. But I'm getting ready to eat my hat just in case..

a 41mm 2.8 lens instead of the 28mm f4!!! This camera just got a bit more interesting to me....
