PhotoRaw on osx leopard?

I'm having problems using Epson PhotoRaw on my new macbook pro. Has anyone had any success using this software on Apple's latest OS Leopard (10.5)?

I was able to get PhotoRaw v1.3 to install and run properly on my macbook, but I'm not able to open any raw images. I see the .erf files but they are greyed out. As if photoraw is unable to read them.

I can view the raw images in iPhoto, and I've had no problems opening them in PhotoRaw running on Windows XP. So I don't think the files are corrupt or anything.

Thanks,

Epson PhotoRaw running smoothly on Mackbook (10.5.2) here.

I think you might be misled by the wording of the software. The erf files are greyed out, because you're not "opening them" into PhotoRaw. Instead you just choose the "folder" that contains these files, and press enter/return. The erf files in the folder will be listed in the left column of the PhotoRaw. Choose one and it will be loaded into the main window for further editing.

Wow... You're absolutely right. All I had to do was select the folder and it worked perfectly. I can't believe I missed that. Guess I'm still getting used to working on a Mac

Thanks for your help!

Hi, my new RD1s just arrived two hours ago. Impressed with such camera, it's beautiful!
I'm totally missed with the software. It seems that my cd is all in japanese, I'm ruuning in OSX Leopard. When the CD is installed, i found the OSX icon and other folders with Epson Raw plugin and other things.
I've tried everything, installing first directly the OSX icon. When the instalation is finished, i try to open the .ERF and CS2 opens with a message that tells me to drop the plugin out of the file format pligins. If i continue i see the program in japanese, imposible to understand nothing. The image is quiet good, well colored balanced but i can't do much more due to my "not understanding those strange characters"

If i remove the specific Epson Raw Plugin from the folder and put it with the other plug-ins, a "languaje file not found" message opens, then the program appears in english, but the image is strange, a very awfull white balance impossible to correct and nothing to do with it.

i can't open any .erf in ACR, it becomes always openning in PhotoRaw.

There's another application installed that seems to be the raw developer. It's called Epson Photolier but i cannot do nothing with it. I'm trying to open the files using the left column, as you tell, but there's nothing to do.

I bought it at matsuiyastore, and thinking that my cd is only japanese, no option to change languaje.

I'm thinking on purchasing maybe Lightroom, but i would like to resolve this situation and save money for a wide lens that maybe i will need.

Thanks to everybody, and sorry for my extensive words, but i need some help.

Edit. Well, finally i uninstalled everything, left only the raw plugin in the folder and now i can use ACR for developing. i would like to find some solution to use PhotoRaw for converting to B&W that i've you can reach good results.

Thanks again for yout time.

Santi

The plug-in won't work with intel chips, but PhotoRaw (standalone program will). Photolier is an earlier version. This link should take you to a download for:
EPSON PhotoRAW Utility v1.30A

Thanks a lot Sevres! Thats the reason why i was becoming crazy.

Finally i removed everything and downloaded the v1.30. I can use Photoraw now. I like very much the conversion to B&W!
Thanks for helping!
