"Reverse Garireo Finder"

Having no reading material other than the CV21/4 instructions to hand when needing the bog rather badly this morning I read it for the first time since buying the lens.

So... the finder is of a type "Reverse Garireo" Did the English translators hear "Galileo" wrong as it was being dictated over the phone or did they put it in as a bit of a laugh?

It's from Japanese, and in Japanese there's no real "L", so i figured that's why

I saw a camera at eBay yesterday for sale by a guy in Japan who had written that he knew that it worked because he had 'roaded' a film in it.

I'm not sure if this is true, but I read once that the Japanese had made a sign which substituted an R for an L. What they wanted it to say was: Ronald Reagan, congratulations on your big eLection!

tripod - thanks for making me giggle.

Philipp - thanks for almost making me spew the dinner from my stomach through laughter. That site has been bookmarked!
