Bessa R photos

Hi. It seems I'm the latest member right now.
To show off I'd like to point you to my latest work here

Monochrome

The photos were shot with my Bessa R and Jupiter 8 50/f2.
I hope you appreciate them, and any comments are welcome.

RML, this is probably a matter of personal taste, but I find this is one of your best shots, together with this one. The reason is simple to me: there are people in both, and their shapes lead the eye. The composition is nice, evocative, suggests a certain mood and, in general terms, show a nice aspect of the big city you live in. However, one that stands out is the one with the cyclist, which is a masterpiece of "accidental shots" (indeed, very HCB!!). Your Amsterdam at Night is very pretty, indeed. Not as good as the cyclist quick shot, but really commendable.

No, I'm not a pro, but neither am I a hen and I still can tell a rotten egg from a good one. Keep working, you're doing well! And, to top it all, you have a great studio within your reach... European cities have a certain je ne sais quoi that I have tried to capture in shots like this one..

Take care and keep up the good work!

Francisco, thanks for the praise! It's nice to see that different people like different shots, and still find common ground as well.

I think that all places offer great opportunities. Only since I got the Bessa R & J-8 I've been able to get the shots of Amsterdam that I had in my mind for some time. It takes camera skills, luck, being there at the right time, some help from the weather, and open eyes to see and get the shots. Recently I've been to southern India, and I'm now selecting the shots I like best and putting them up (at photo.net). I hope these will be received in a similar fashion as the "Monochrome".

I particularly liked your shot called "Light Zone-Gothic Quarter". It's the kind of shot that's in my mind but haven't yet been able to get exactly right. There are actually quite some photos in your gallery that I really like, mostly the ones similar to the two people photos of mine that you pointed out.

So did I, but saw them first when you mentioned them in the CVUG elist... And it seemed many admired the same two pics: Amsterdam at Night and the bicycle/puddle one. The others were fine as well, but I thought those two were simply outstanding. Welcome!
