Dead XA ... anyone got a spare?

Damn. The day started well -- foggy, and I like shooting in fog. Travelled light, just one cam in my jacket pocket, my XA. Shot a roll, got up to frame 6 of the next roll and suddenly the shutter would no longer fire. Battery was okay. Meter working and battery check beeps and lights up. Slid the clamshell cover back and forth, back and forth, in case it was stuck inside. Nothing...

So, I seem to have a dead XA. I imagine it could be repaired, but this is a scuffed up old user, not worth a fancy repair bill.

I'm XA-dependent. Love carrying them around everywhere. Anyone got a user XA for sale?

Lost in the fog ...

Gene

I'm afraid my 2nd XA is DOA as well ... I bought it that way knowing it would need a spa treatment, but just haven't sent it off yet.

I feel your pain. There are a few on ePay (not your favourite venue, I know) tracking at very reasonable prices, but it's a roll of the dice what you'll get. Hope you get a replacement soon ... not having one is like losing a limb.

Until then, there's the C35 ...

Yep, sure do Gene. I'm not using it and it's in great shape, I'll go do a quick function check. PM me if you're interested.
