Ebay good today, I think
Just won a 35mm Jupiter 12 and a 85mm Jupiter 9 today. Both from the same person in Mass. The J-12 for $39 and the J-9 for $40 with $6 shipping. Put my bid in 2 days ago and they held up. Funny thingabout Ebay, other J-12 auctions on-going are bid higher than these.
Does anyone have experience with these lenses? I will be using them on my FED 3b and FED 2c (which should arrive this week). I'm in the process of finding the aux. finder for the lenses.
Brian

Brian, you did very well indeed. I really can't comment on the J-12 as I haven't used mine yet but if my J-9's are any indication, you'll like it. I just got my J-9 for LTM and haven't used it yet but the ones I have for the Kiev are very good.
Let us know how they work out.

At the other extreme eBay seemed to favor some sellers, as well. I love eBay - it is so unpredictable!

Sounds like you got a good deal, Brian, if the lenses are in in good condition! I don't have a J-9, but like my Jupiter-12, as it seems to perform pretty well. I did immediately seek out a FSU finder for 35mm, and it's a good one too. I think I might have done better on the price to have waited for an auction for both lens and finder together.

The J-12 is an absolutely great lens! Here is a shot I made with mine:

The J-9 is also potentially great, but a mechanical nightmare, so there are a lot of misadjusted ones around... If yours works OK, you can expect some of the best bokeh EVER (after all, it is a real Sonnar!)

Does the J-9 Kiev mount fit and work well on the Contaxes? (i'm asking about the postwar iia / iiia, not the prewar ii / iii on which the Kievs were based)
