Incompatible M-Mount Lenses/list from Robert White

Robert White's website has a list from of lenses that Fuji says are not compatible with its M-mount adapter. The link is here:

Has anyone tried to use any of the following on the XP1 with the Kippon adapter or otherwise?


Summicron M 35mm F2 (3rd 1980-)
ULTRON 28mmF2
NOKTON classic 35mmF1.4
NOKTON 35mmF1.2
C Biogon T*35mmF2.8 ZM

Any sense of whether we are talking sensor damage or just binding against some internal part of the camera? This weekend I almost grabbed the 35 C-Biogon, but went with other lenses instead.

I can't speak to the CV lenses but the C-Biogon is incompatible with the Fujifilm adaptor because the metal cylinder that houses the rear element group is too large in diameter to fit within the Fujifilm adaptor's baffles. That lens does fit with the Kipon (Krap-on) adaptor. But the Fujifilm adaptor is much better made than the Krap-on (I own both).

Edit: The C-Biogon 35/2.8 works fine on the Fuji factory adapter. At least, my lens sample fits my adapter sample. YMMV, take due care, etc. But for me it works well and the lens performs more than adequately on the camera.

I have both the Fuji and a Rainbow m adapter. It is the internal cylinder housing the Fuji electronics which is where the problem resides as Semilog has indicated. Fuji provides a plastic gage to help u figure out if your lens will have an issue. It is divided into two sections. The first is to c if the rear element diameter is narrow enough to fit thru the smaller hole caused by the electronics housing. The second one is used to check depth in terms of two different perspectives, if I remember correctly. The depth of rear element at inf if rear element is too wide and the depth if it is narrow enough to fit thru the narrower hole. The later one is to ensure rear element does not touch sensor..

My 35 sumicron 4th generation fails the diameter test. I don't have any of the other lenses u mentioned, but I do have a cv 28 f1.9 which worked fwiw.

But my M35/2 4th (pre ASPH) works fine on XP1 with a ... no brand adapter

It should since it does not have to worry about the smaller opening due to the electronics housing donut.

But on the other hand the no name adapter has no support for lens correction. Win some lose some.

but wait.. you say "K eye pon" and think im an inferior speciecs for calling it a kippon and yet Krap-on sounds more like kippon the kuh eye ppon..

Well buoyed by Semilog's experience with the Kippon, I just ran a quick test with the Cameraquest RayQual adapter and the following lenses:

ULTRON 28mmF2
NOKTON classic 35mmF1.4
NOKTON 35mmF1.2
C Biogon T*35mmF2.8 ZM

They all worked fine. If anyone wants boring hand-held pictures of a fruit bowl taken with the above lenses wide open, I'll post them.

It works on the Kipon adaptor, Dante. If no one has reported by this weekend I'll try it with my Fuji adaptor and a friend's 'lux ASPH since I no longer have that lens.
