That was fun - I'm sure others were better placed; only a partial eclipse here.
Cardboard, duct tape and binocular projection did the trick and gave a nice view - even showing up a few sunspots. 8x20 Trinovids and a 90mm lens for the close up.
Thanks for sharing ! I should have seen a total annular eclipse for a total of two minutes in the West of Shinjuku and tried a projection via pin-hole in a cardboard but it was to cloudy for this method.
I flew up to the St. George Utah airport which was in the full shadow. Shot these with a P&S digital camera covered by a Unitron eyepiece Solar filter (massive ND effect) - a very impromptu setup. The experience was hard to describe - it was sort of a primal feeling - it was like nature was telling us something deep and profound way beyond our daily foibles (I know this sounds batty!)
