Were lens and body s/n matched on S3-2000?

Were the lens and body s/n matched on the S3-2000 kits?

I just peeked at a couple kits on ebay and they aren't matched.

Also, were any black S3-2000 kits recalled due to infinity lock issues (or any other issues)?

What was the serial number range of the recalled units?

Thanks
Vick

Vick, no the lens and body serial no.s of the S3 2000 and S3 2002 kits do not match.

No black S3 2002 kits were recalled.

As I mentioned in another thread, only the early s/n chrome S3 2000 bodies (201xxx - 202xxx) were recalled. The mount problem and infinity lock problem is fixed on later cameras, and on the early cameras that went back to Nikon. I've owned two of the early s/n cameras that had a problem. The infinity lock was fine. The problem was a small raised ridge around the inside part of the mount that prevented some external mount lenses from being mounted properly.
