Kodak. Tri-x. Price increase???
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...120_Black.html
I haven't ordered 120 Tri-X in a while but I was about to stock up and I noticed that BH prices went up a lot. I think it was ~$3.79 +/- 10 cents last time I made an order.
Granted, it's much cheaper at Freestylephoto and Adorama, but what gives for the huge increase?
I generally ignore all the film is dying and kodak going out of business threads, but is tri-x being phased out or something?

$4.99? WTH? That's even more expensive than a 35mm roll.

Sorry,
I was feeling a little sorry for myself and a little sorry for us down here in Oz who have to pay really high prices for film. But I removed my comment. Sure, if you want Kodak (in whatever form) to keep selling Tri-X (please!) then they have to be profitable. But I really don't want them to price themselves out of the market. Especially out of the "this is the normal way to take a photo" market. I know that last bit is so close it may already be here, but if they charge too much for film, they may strangle whatever market they have left...

In Japan, Tri-x prices went up by 50% last summer, and is said to go up 25% again now - totally unacceptable as it was the same batch that I stocked up on one year ago (exp 2013/01).
I just switched to HP5.

Why wouldn't film be getting more expensive?
Isn't this the trend we've been expecting as digital drives the last few nails into it's coffin and it heads towards becoming a niche product.

You are right but I ordered 20 rolls and the price came down slightly. I wonder if it went up in the last week.......which would not surprise me.
