Ballhead or some other mount for the beach

Will be taking my Hassey on the beach for photos regularly using a tripod. Will try not to get too sandy but I fear my Arca Swiss ballhead could get easily ruined. Are there any other options that would be more sand resistent?

The Acratech models are reputed to be good in harsh environments. Their open design allows them to be cleaned of sand and other detritus easily, they have other issues but are good in the maintenance department. I use an A-S Z1 but if I were on the beach a lot I'd get an Acratech Ultimate ballhead.
