First Roll from the XA

I picked up an XA fairly cheap. The meter needle doesn't work, but it appears to be metering o.k. Nothing fancy on the first roll. I just wanted to know if the meter worked and if I need to replace the light seals.

Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!

Abandoned building.

I love my XA's, one of which I bought new in 1980. But they are COLOR cameras. No practical way to mount filters for B&W. That lens is very good and they fit in my pants pocket.

I love that they fit in a pants pocket. I've had an XA2 for a little over a year. I picked this up for the extra control in aperture setting and focusing.

Guess I won't need my pocket digital I loaned to my niece.

Yep, so far so good with my XA2! Sit around the pool watching the grandkids and take the camera out of my pocket and shoot when I want...life is good.

BTW, what is that thing, a UFO?

Hence the title Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!

I did a little looking around and asking questions. I believe it was a prefrabricated house idea that never caught on.

Oddly, I like it! Noticed on the link that there is one in Pensacola...maybe Raid can snag a shot of that one if it is still around.

The concept is really a good one and just funky enough to be cool!

One of my former employees, while working on her Ph.D. at Georgia Tech, came up with a portable housing idea a few years ago using the metal containers for transporting good by rail. Stackable, compact and cheap enough to be used for homeless housing. Never caught on either.

This Futuro thing looks absolutely great!

Went out to dinner with dad and other family for Father's day. My 10 year old niece was back from vacation and had my little digital camera. She ejoyed using it, so I told her she could keep it.
