Eric Mazur's group at Harvard University's Chemistry Department has discovered how to make "Black Silicon", a form of silicon that traps far more light than that used currently in sensors. In time this may revolutionize high ISO digital photography, computer displays and photovoltaic cells for solar power. See
the Mazur Group page on Black Silicon for an introduction to the discovery. Maybe someday it will find its way into an M mount digital camera, but don't hold your breath.
