It really seems like the rubbing is happening right along the edge where the lens meets the body though. Like the edge of the lens is rubbing against the inside of the lens mount on the body.

Just make sure there's no black or white slipping, you should get a decent, neutral scan.

I'll check it out. I think the Nikon RF will seem pretty natural to me. I have a 55/1,2 and a Zeiss 25/2,8 that I use pretty regularly, both manual focus lenses.
