With the x100, it is more about the manual controls, optical VF, and fast prime lens, and Im not sure the excitement about that has worn off very much at all. if anything its built!

For what its worth, I tested a late model 28mm f3.5 against a few canon L lenses around the same focal length on a 5d, and the little OM kicked the canons butt! Its a really great lens.

My x100 was really sharp at f2. As a 35mm equivalent, it was better wide open than my zeiss ZE distagon 35mm f2, better than my 35L... It's one of the few 35mm lenses that can be used for landscape...

Why not just use them like a normal manual camera? They have a manual shutter speed dial, aperture ring, and assign ISO to the Fn button. Turn the playback review off, turn the view mode to lcd off....
