No knowledge of whether mine is "as original" or not, but it's stamped "Wetzlar" and has the bumpers above the strap lugs, but a higher serial number than yours. S/N 1688xxx

Yes, that's the ring that was about 1/4 turn loose in my lens. I didn't over-tighten, I just took that slack out of it and that improved the "wobble" by 80-90%. There is still some movement...
