I'm transitioning back to mostly, if not 99.9% film. I only have one client that I do work for fairly regularly that digital really is the better choice because of how the images are used.

6x7 only. I never could stand square format. I shoot mostly portrait and landscape/travel stuff and leverage the rectangle in ways that would cause me to have to crop too much in SQ format.

Happy birthday to you!

Happy birthday to you. Literally born the same day ... though I'm spending mine at work instead of having fun taking photos. :D

Maybe ...

I voted "maybe." I like the idea of a 6x7 folder as a compliment to my 7II or as something I could toss in a bag and not worry about it getting banged up. That said ... the price couldn't be over...

Great Travel Camera

I had a reply that disappeared when I clicked the preview button and the "You're not logged in" message appeared ... when I'd just logged in before typing my reply. Annoying.

In any case ... I use...

On the nose ...

I think Norm said it perfect here. To add my 6x7 cents ... Shoot digital when the job "requires" it and then shoot film to mend your soul.

Internal meter is accurate ... if you know its quirks.

I use the internal meter mostly. As pointed out above, the metering point is above the focusing box. On mine it's above and to the right of the top-right corner. On the 43mm lens it seems to be a...

My vote is for Burtynsky

Ed Burtynsky gets my vote. I was introduced to his work by a professor who happens to be Burtynsky's best friend. My independent study professor put together this huge traveling exhibit and...

Mamiya 7/7II all the way ...

I have a 7II with the 43 and 80 and it's now the only camera I take when I travel ... no more digital with chargers, cords, etc. I love the 6x7 format (I have an RZ67 ProII also) and have used 6x6...

Way too many cameras was my first thought. Obviously some of these are just packed away in bags somewhere ... but I can't get enough for them to make them worth selling. So, in order from what I'm...

When I had a 35mm lens, I need a 28mm. Then that wasn't wide enough so I got a 24mm. Then, I got a 17mm ... I think you see where I'm going here.

When I got my Mamiya 7II I got the 80mm and the...

Thumbs up Lens selection

I use a 43mm and an 80mm and I think it gives me a very versatile combination. I'd recommend this combination because of the dramatic difference in perspective.

Some might think the use of the...
