2.8F on a photoshoot today!

Picked up a Rolleiflex "T" yesterday - needs a shutter service though.
Will post pics soon :) |
Here's a pic of my 3 Rolleis enjoying the sunshine :)
(L-R) Rolleiflex "T" (3.5 Tessar), Rolleicord Vb (3.5 Xenar), Rolleiflex 3.5F (Planar) ![]() |
That's a nice collection. I have a T and a 3,5F would like some more...:)
![]() A 'T' from1959 ![]() I think this F is from 1961 |
They are very photogenic :D

Perhaps the only remaining Yashica 635 with factory installed black radial control dials. It is in pristine condition, complete with intact 35mm adapter kit, cable release and flash grip.

This just in: Yashicamat (circa 1960?)
![]() Looks nice, but all the controls are mushy, and I think focus may be off (I have put a roll of film through it, but have not developed it yet), so it needs a CLA. This one is a later version with the Yashinon lenses. I have an earlier version with the Lumaxar lenses that needs repair. I like the older one better, but I will have to save up some money and get one or the other working 100% properly. I used to have no problem working on cameras myself, but my health is not helping. I am bound and determined to have a working TLR again. There are times when they are the perfect tool for the job at hand. |

This camera was manufactured in 1958. Yes, the first thing I thought too was that someone may have at some point changed the knobs. But the original owner was adamant that he purchased it brand new, and that no modifications were ever made to the dials. Plus, I have had three camera experts/historians researching this for me, and after analyzing/comparing the serial numbers of the body and lenses with a large database, have all come to the same conclusion... that these are in fact the original knobs. Only a handful of 635's ever left the factory with these black radial control dials in all of the years it was produced, and this was only during the 1958 production run. The serial numbers match precisely with the timeline of when the black knobs were known to have been installed. (also, I was told that it would have been highly unlikely that someone would attempt to replace them, due to the fact that the camera would have to be pretty much dismantled to do so) It is unknown as to exactly how many 635's received these black dials, (believed to be between 5 and 25) or whether any others still exist today. Also unclear, is why the black knobs were used. (quite possible that someone simply made a mistake) Glen |

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/260969899930?...84.m1439.l2649 I think it nicely suits the camera. Seems very well made/durable... and it does look quite sexy! Glen |
Here's my '635'. I really need to use it, I have run 1 roll through it and want to try home developing on my own.

Dang! Not only am I beginning to accumulate cameras, but now I am beginning to sound like a collector. Well, I will never be paying thousands of dollars for mint cameras, unless they suddenly raise social security by a 1000%. |
The latest addition to my collection:
![]() Build-it-yourself Recesky 35mm TLR, with handmade strap I'm so proud ;) |
My recently acquired Rolleiflex 3.5F (early Model I with Zeiss Planar lens).
The camera was in super mint condition. :) ![]() Came with a load of accessories as well, including several coloured filters, a UV filter, Rolleinar 2, good, (n)eveready case, two kinds of grips (pistol, flash), a tripod (small one), lots of brochures and manuals, and most importantly (for me) the penta-prism (which looks like it has never been used). :D ![]() I was initially looking to make a quick buck and sell it, but my inner self got the better of me. My next task is to try and locate a Rolleiflex technician that can give this a cleaning inside and out, and then it is time to venture into the 6x6 realm. |
Nice 3.5F

Here is my just-arrived 3.5F, fresh Krikor CLA and Maxwell screen.
Speaking of the Maxwell, it is fantastic! Pretty much a 3D effect, subjects snap in and out of focus with ease. This video does not do it justice, but it's a close simulation of what you see in real life... http://vimeo.com/couchmode/user37314...:date/46391099 ![]() |
