Kim

That's what I thought. How was the turnaround?

MelanieC 01-23-2007 10:18

My goodness. I could be turned to black Ms after seeing that.

It may sound like heresy, but I must ask: does CRR use a paint that doesn't lead to brassing so readily? I hate brassing.

(And no, I am not thinking about painting my M3.)

Topdog1 01-23-2007 10:26

I sent CRR an email a while back and they never responded. Kind of turned me off on the prospect of sending them my camera. All of these (re)painters seem to be, shall we say, temperamental.

Ira,

if you still have a job for CRR try giving Peter a ring, he's a very nice person and easy to deal with. I don't know why he never replies to emails. I tried emailing him too but never received a reply, only to find out that he's easily accessible through the phone. And he does do tip-top work, I have yet to hear from someone who is not satisfied from a CRR repair.

telenous 01-23-2007 10:36

This latest surge of black M's tempt me to bring to the fore my Black Beauty (now, where's that darn digicam?).

Hi Ira,
Full details of the repaint are in this thread together with a link to the CRR website which has the contact phone number. I know they have a reputation for not answering emails but I have always got through on the phone. http://www.rangefinderforum.com/foru...786#post469786

Kim: Whoa...between the paint makeover and that lens, this is quite a combo. Going to need some extra ballast to keep your head from hitting the ceiling for a while. :)

Luigi does make half cases with a "built-in" grip. I have two of them and they are great. Really helps when hand carrying to help prevent the camera from slipping out of my hand.

M3 single stroke

I've got this m3 for so cheap I was very thrilled. It's a single stroke & the finder's clean and clear.
I walked around with Hexanon 50mm until I got this old sumicron.
Sumicron is a lot smaller when collapsed but heavier
M3 has scratches and dings here and there but it's silky smooth and worry free
from getting bumped into something and get dents.
It's already dented :D

I like this thread a lot as I love to see different M of different M-owners. This is my M2 which I have just removed its original covering for a replacement. I took the pictures for record as it will soon be covered with new skin. I like its raw finish.

This is my M2 after dressed this afternoon. The new covering is Dark Brown Lizard Emboss from Akihiro Asahi. The whole process was relatively simple and it took much lesser time than I have expected.:)

Please explain. How did you get your M7 to look that way?... black paint, MP/M3 controls. It's perfect!

Thanks! The new skin is actually a little more slippery than the original one but is still safe. It has a good hand feeling.

my beloved MP, I use it as much as I can...
the customer service changed the standart cover to the vulcanit like,
which has a nicer grip and looks more classic!
