Any feedback?

Hello Simon,

i'm more than pleased with this lens. For the money it's a great deal. Below you will some examples shot with this combo on Kodak BW400. So far i didn't notice any vignetting, the lens is super short, absolutely no problem to put the camera with the lens attached into the pocket of your jacket.

have fun, Guido

The small size is perfect for my kind of photography...as is the price!

Thanks for the links to your photographs, it was very helpful to have a look at some images that have been made with this lens. You also have a quality looking website there. Congratulations.

Thanks
Simon

My black and white Leicas

Wilt, Mike and Magus,

thanks for your warm welcome.

as I said I showed the beautiful side of my M2. Around the eyepiece and the rewind knob it is really damaged. Nevertheless it is a gorgeous camera.

Facinating to see how each and every photographer solves the task of presenting their beloved cameras. One of the best pictures here is that by Keith Novak. They have some smart photographers down and under.

Here is my MP-3 with a 24mm 2.8 asph and alongside is the 50mm 1.4 asph.

rodneyAB 01-17-2007 11:19

Hi Joe, good photo..i know you said in previous post what hood that is on your 50lux, could you state it again?....and secondly, what do you think about the 24? do you need or want an external viewfinder?

JoeMac 01-17-2007 13:37

Rodney,

The hood for the 50mm is the old model XOOIM, just like it vs the one that came with the lens. I just got the 24mm and love it. I do have a viewfinder and the 24mm needs it. I got the voightlander 25mm finder, much cheaper and works just as well.

Man, I hate PBase sometimes. It seems to be rather finicky about when it wants images to be visible, which is really annoying considering that it costs money to use.

Here's the Flickr link:

Yes, this is my dad's M3!

Raphael:

Just kidding, they are not named Sally, Jesse and Raphael, but anyway...M3, MP and M7 a la carte (it's blue leather, with chrome and MP fittings)

Rico 01-21-2007 18:03

Raphael's strap is hanging off the table: a big no-no in my AAS (accident-avoidance system).

saltyfli 01-22-2007 03:11

I would love to see Raphael, in a color photo, to show off it`s blue leather with chrome and MP fittings. Please!

StuartR 01-22-2007 06:23

Here is a color photo...depending on your monitor, the blue will look different. I profiled this as sRGB, so if you use that profile it should look about right...

Here is another shot:

ywenz 01-22-2007 08:07

wow M7 with the classic top is excellent!

swoop 01-22-2007 08:11

I agree...they really did an excellent job. It's a superb camera too. As much as I love the MP, the M7 is just a joy to work with in AE.

StuartR 01-22-2007 09:49

That MP3 is pretty gorgeous. I love the old M3 top plate...

dandp 01-22-2007 09:50

....and the other two in the stable....black paint MP ala carte 0.85 and SS M3

I got mine about a week back and am really enjoying it too. Find the 3 frames nice and clean to use too. Glad to see you had no issues with sticking on the sling and scratching the nice black paint on the lugs. I did the same of course. There was a little whince as I slid the rings thru the holes and rotated them but that did not last long as I rushed out the door with a pocket full of film eager for some shots! A real pleasure to use and I always maintained that I would do exactly that. I will keep my MP3 and MP and use them both thoroughly. They will not be sold.
