Since this is the "official" M thread, I'll post this pic here, too. My M2 just arrived this week.

Hmm.. M4-P with a Rapidwinder.. I'd like to try a rapidwinder some time, I'm sure it gives the camera some more body.

mknawabi 05-17-2008 20:20

drool. i think i want that m4-p

Doc,
The M3 was purchased and was already used quite a bit. I got it CLA'd and it's now the smoothest and quietest of all my cameras. Now I know what butter smooth means :-)

I had it dechromed so a local shop would professionally paint it black but the touch and feel of the Nickel is so nice I decided to keep it as-is. I noticeably used the M3 for the Paris-2 series in my website as well as the Ritual series :-)

Quite a camera...

I hope to get my J-12 35mm this week to use with my M4. I'm still waiting for it.

Underexposed by the M8, or is it just my monitor? Either way, the image I get is way too dark to see properly.

urban_alchemist 05-21-2008 11:13

hey all
been watching this thread for quite awhile, finally joining the procession.
here's my M6 w/35 from about 10 years ago, my grandfather's (now in my hands) IIIC from the ’40s (with VC meter), and my M8 w/21-cum-28 from last year, all near and dear to my heart.
also, i haven't got a gallery put together here yet, but here's a link to a blog entry from my work. i'm the editor of a skateboard magazine in san francisco. all the photos here are from a family trip to japan during which i broke in my M8...

"DAMN!

i never thought anybody on here would know SLAP... hi HSI.
i'm pretty much the only regular one, through joe brook and lance dawes have had them, too. i mostly use mine for portraits and music stuff, but i've had a decent amount of skate stuff w/leicas over the last 10 years.

Andrew Sowerby 05-23-2008 07:57

I used to read Slap back in high school. I liked it -- a nice break from Thrasher and TWS. Nice pics of the Japan trip!

Wow, Philippe, nice array.

Here is my M collection today. I have nothing important to add, although another Visoflex lens is always possible. Two Brownie Points if you can ID this mess. :)
.

HSI 05-23-2008 12:15

You know it all listed at the bottom?
Other than that, beautiful collection.

Sofa King 05-23-2008 12:24

Yeah Slap was my favorite skate mag back in high school. Never thought any skate photographers would use rangefinders though.
