Now that's a nice pic!

Always a good idea to point your Leica with wide open lens straight at the sun :) In full sunlight that could burn through your shutter very fast.

Leica MP, Konica M-Hexanon 50/2, A&A Half Case, A&A Kobe Strap

It was stopped down and pointing at a tree. It is not direct sunlight. I know the rules. :p

My trusty M7 having lunch in San Francisco about a month ago. 50 'Cron, A&A Silk Strap (love it BTW!).

...and here's another day with that M7 chowing down again.

That big speed dial and the old-style M3 lever look to be made for each other! :eek:

I'd almost warm up to a TTL camera... :eek:;)

Could you guys please stop posting beautiful pictures of your M7 cameras?
Mine is still not reanimated with locked shutter advance. :-(

They're just a reminder as to how happy you'll be when yours is back and working.

What lens hood is that you are using on the Summilux ?

buzzardkid 08-07-2011 07:08

Looks like the dedicated 12521G Summilux lens hood.

Nice collection. That BP M8 is beautiful.

Leica0Series 08-07-2011 12:45

I cannot make my picture appear here no matter what I do, so here is a link. M8 with 28 Avenon, modified M4 with M4-P winder and MR-4 meter.

Yep, another name for it is the XOOIM hood. Any ideas as to what it stands for?

Thanks Wes, yes, despite being worn pretty quick and rambling of some Leica users of how much better the older black paint was than the new black paint :p, it is my most liked finish.

Here is an older picture of the M8.2 - it was my daily shooter for a year.
This seems, to change now slightly, as at the moment, I use the M9 more (I guess, until the "new" rubs off).

The M8.2 is so pretty, makes me want one. Nice pictures of your babies

Worn in all the right places. :eek:

I wish my MP was BP. :bang:

menos 08-07-2011 21:16

@Kristian
Thanks ;-)
When I bought this camera second hand, it had a brassed corner of the on/off switch and a brassed edge on the base plate.
I took off the ugly base plate sticker and the white letters and used it daily ever since.
It is strange, how this black paint can make these cold boxes somehow dear to one self - I could not sell this camera!

Too bad, Leica switched to a different, matte paint (which seems more durable) on the M9. The M8.2 paint indeed almost looks like piano lacquer, when used for a while, as it get's some shine.

@Wes
No worries, your's will wear too, oh and it's not a written law, to forbid ownership of two MPs ;-)
The BP MP has been almost new, when I took that picture, but it surely will hold up better than the M8.2, as I shoot mostly digital (some recently acquired lenses might change that though :D).
