Hi, it's a Brand: Crumpler. Name: Sporty Guy. Size: 1.0. Very tough and good looking, I think. I am not a fan of strap lugs, nor half cases. I like it naked in my hands and this is perfect to me... Unfortunately, the front door is designed more for digital, than for film, but you can put some filters in there. I used it the first time, this year. And I have to say, I really liked it. Tough, easy to open. Only thing: the shoulder strap is a little bit hard, if you carry it a few hours on your neck. Should have a shoulder cushion or something like that. Quote:
The camera is CLA'd and I installed Asahis cover, because the vulcaniter was falling off... But it's a really nice example, that's true! |

And one of my favourite cameras too. :D |
New to the forums and to Leica, i've found myself with an M2, M6TTL and CL in the space of a month or so!
The M2 is in need of repair and recovering atm, so i'll show him another time. Here's the M6TTL i got as a trade for some artwork of mine, sporting a 50mm Voigtlander Nokton f1.1 ![]() ![]() And in more regular compact mode with a 35mm Summaron f3.5 that came with the M2 Group hug! ![]() |
Nice gear and welcome to RFF!

Funny is one way to put it, i personally love the proportions! Obviously given the choice, the Nokton stays on the M6 - the focusing is more accurate, the rangefinder less obscured, but it fits and you can shoot with it, so why not pop it on every now and then? I'm in the habit of carrying one with colour and one with b&w, so a bit of lens swapping often occurs. The M6 has sticky frameline selector and zincfass, but seeing as it was practically given to me, i have no complaints! |

The 2nd photo is actually riding in an E class Mercedes, the interior of the E-type is much more 'fighter jet' like. |

The usual summer setup. Less to carry in hot weather means more pictures.
The bag i found in my grandpa's closet after his passing. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Cool bag! Why do you open it this way? Isn't it easier just to push the thing underneath?
|
Welcome to rff!
nice cameras also you've picked well Let me give you a hint, you better make room in your house and in your savings account, adding equipment will not stop after your first 30 days! Jim Quote:

It sure is easier to open the bag from the clip and is usually what i do.

Thanks jcruncher!
Trust me, these Leicas and my M2 in need of repair are just the latest (and greatest) additions to a 40+ camera collection. I shoot everything from 35mm, 120, Polaroid, instax and digital of course and get just as much fun from an LCA or SX70 as I do from a "proper" camera. I need lenses now! |

really really nice , I love m3 , I'm waiting for mine ready in eseptember after a big cla, yours seems new ....... |
Wow Chris, that cute little Summaron dwarfs the CL !!!
Nice deal you figured out there with the M6. If you ever feel like the zinc issue bugs you, but the M6 is liked otherwise, there are dealers, who sell Leica top decks and backdoors, while a technician could transplant those, while having a "look under the hood". It would cost you maybe the cost of 50% of a nice M6, to do that. |

Very nice set and photograph, segedi!
Cheers, Juan |
Chris -Focusing is rather easier. Much easier than I anticipated, the little knob at the bottom can even be used when I have a half case on. But changing aperture is a pain as it moves the focus and when the hood is on (it's tiny too but screws into the front of the lens) it is harder to change aperture. I'm sure I'll learn some tricks, but the lens makes the M pocketable which is really nice. So I have been setting aperture and then focusing and usually on an AE body works best.
Juan - Thanks! |
That's a really cool little lens. Talk about taking portability to the next level!
