Nice setup, geebeewien :-) The little Helia really rocks on the M8!

And of course, the elusive Black Dot(TM). I've been looking for one like this for AGES. Can't wait! And I just picked up two more 1g Rapid Fixer jugs so I can finally get back to souping.

The kicker? It's had all of THREE rolls through it.

Truth be told though, I'm not sure how I feel about the .85x VF as I do like my wides. But I'm thinking I can just use the whole VF to approximate the 28mm view.

Mmmmhh -what a beauty indeed!
Enjoy, a really wonderful camera!

The M3 was my first Leica and I think the ala carte M7 will be my last film body. Famous last words! I had a MP and loved it, but the M7 is so much faster to use.

Some very beautiful cameras, you guys have!

Just for the heck of it I tried the ala carte configurator. Over $6,000 for my M7! That's a huge price increase over what I paid for mine. BTW, A mode for me all the time unless I'm using the M3.

thank you guys !

No matter what I do, I cannot seem to like the M7. A quick google reveals far too many people complaining about something related to that camera.

I think my next purchase will either be an MP or an M4, if I can find ones that I can actually afford, else I'll get a second M4-P.

Vobluda 06-24-2011 04:11

I prefer tap water :D

But those cameras are lovely!

My last remaining film Ms. Shinatro crickled blackpaint (aka black hammertone) M3 and Blackpaint M4. Nicely brassed over the years.

jsrockit 06-24-2011 04:35

I have a silver chrome M6, which I like, but those "chocolate" Leicas look mighty tasty.

Do you have any more pictures of your M3? The "black hammertone" finish looks really nice.

ZoomP, do you take requests? :D

Have any more pictures of your Masa Saita M2? I saw a few in the earlier posts, any progress on how well they hold up to use?

Sorry, sold the Masa to a buddy who wanted a Black M2. If you compare the paintwork, Shintaro is up there with the best.

Thanks. That finish is incredibly nice. I can imagine that it cost you a small fortune, but well worth it, I'm sure.

Actually this belonged to one of the Rffers here, who sold it to my buddy in Singapore. I got it from him eventually.

RFluhver 06-24-2011 18:43

Do these repainted ones brass over time??

I would imagine so, as the pro repainters strip the camera before painting it. All that's left under the paint is brass! :)

A great acquisition! One day I'll do the same thing. :)
