Thanks! The Fuji is a really sweet little camera. I am jealous. Thanks!! It's my wife.

Did you self-paint the Leica M3? The finish looks a little bit like my F3/T paint. Very nice. Would love to see more pics of this one! - Nope, it's a shintaro crickled blackpaint that used to belong to a RFer on this forum. Here's a close-up.

#9 lens on the M3 is a topcon lens. - Yes, it's a Topcor Panda version 50 f2.0 LTM
#10 Zeiss 21mm lens on the right of the right girl - Correct!
#11 Canon lens mounted on the Leica IIIg - It's a Canon 50 f1.5 LTM Sonnar
#12 I think another canon lens underneath the IIIG - Canon 35 f2.0 LTM
#13 New CV lens right of the left girls shoulder - VC 75 f1.8
#14 Nikon or Zeiss (?) Lens right of the Fuji - Nikkor 85 f2.0 Sonnar
#15 The lens on the M6 TTL is not a Leitz, I guess. But not sure... Konica Hexanon 50 f2.4 LTM

HAHA, you are crazy, but really good stuff! All these errors, made me thinking for one little moment, that the IIIg is a Zorki, but it is not! Your point! .-)

That M3 looks great! Excellent finish! Thank you for the close-up!

please, dont'kill me.....

we won't :D

really like your combo, nice Leica body with one of the sharpest fsu 50mm lenses out there and the cheapest! IMHO the lens draws nicer than a Leitz elmar....and the handling is much better.. also the only fsu lens with nice f-clickstops and easy to cla yourself.
I have/had several of these and after a cla they all turn as smooth as a Leica lens!
and not forget to mention the extra dispersion with radioactive elements

how is the rangefinder base of these cl's: adequate for most situations?

39per1 05-29-2011 13:50

...."the thing" works fine and the rangefinder was sharp enough, even if the lens barrell was a bad mess.....unlucky with this camera, I create this combo for heavy duty (i.e.: on the beach, in rock shows etc...) but it fall on the ground from my desk, at home, and the RF window crashes .....:(

PS: I put it in the wrong 3D, there is one for CL....
Gonna show my M bodies soon...
PPS: seems strange, but the parallax correction (with the 50 frame) is better than in M2....

Nice. Wouldn't mind hearing that story someday. Ideally I would love a plate with no logos on the front and a classic style engraving on top.

Anyway, start another thread about it! With some more photos.

Just packing for a trip - still undecided, which lenses to pair.

This is my shiny new Nikkor-S.C 5cm 1.4 on an equally virgin MP, as just a few weeks with me ;-)

"MP + Nikkor-S.C | M8.2 + 35 Lux ASPH"

Fraser 06-04-2011 04:38

Grmpf... I have no GAS... I have no GAS... I have no GAS...

Is this a rapidwinder on the bottom of your MP?

menos 06-04-2011 05:14

@Fraser
It's a hot shoe cover from Matchtechnical (correct writing ?).
I got a few from PopFlash - they are quite expensive for what they are, but absolutely worth every cent.

I was just sick of constantly catching the Leica bodies in bags and clothes - these make the perfect solution for the Leica bodies.

I had to grind my samples down, to fit easily each body, as I do use flash from time to time.

@Haempe

You have no GAS… You have no GAS… You have no GAS…
sure … ;-)

How is it around in Saxony, any nice old lenses for sale in any specialty shops (especially in Leipzig or Dresden)?
I will be back in Germany for a few days soon and I passed as such wonderful deals as a nice M3 for 350,-EUR or M2s for similar money (still kicking myself).

errorlogin 06-04-2011 05:46

Just for fun:

No idea, usually I don't patrol through the shops, because I have no GAS...;)
But I'm sure, if you wanna find something, you will find something...

Rapidwinder or Leicavit on your MP? Looks like black paint...

It's a black paint Leicavit MP - I just got lucky and must have been snapping a deal of the century like new second hand one at BH ;-)

There is a tempting special edition nicely used one in the classifieds at the moment, although a bit pricey - but sooooo nice … but you have no GAS ;-)

Something like this perhaps:

jbielikowski 06-05-2011 10:54

HuubL, yours one of my favourite I found on flickr but its just bit to small for wallpaper, something like 1024-1280 on longer side would be great.

JHP 06-05-2011 15:34

M5's are growing on me fast...

HuubL -- the first M5 I actually thinks looks good. Still too bulky, but at least good looking :)

No, most are black and look plain ugly. Silver adds a distinct sexyness to this otherwise oversized and understyled camera. (Sorry for bashing you' M5 -- I just don't liked(d) it (until now) :p)

rsolti 06-06-2011 10:49

Wow...I have so far read about 150 pages of this thread. DAMN!!!! I haven't taken pics of the cameras really, but here is one
