Bought the MDa below to replace my Bessa L. It just arrived and I have yet to run film through it.

My little family
Current setup, from left to right: Planar 2/50 ZM (chrome), Leica M8 (chrome) with Heliar 15/4.5 II (new M-mount version with RF coupling and 52mm filter thread) and Voigtländer 21mm viewfinder, Biogon 28/2.8 ZM (chrome).
![]() FYI: The picture was taken with an Olympus E-P1 + Lumix 20/1.7 pancake lens, a superb little combo! |

my trustworthy brassed & battered M2
![]() Used to belong to a German photo journalist. His name is still stuck to the bottom plate. It had all kinds of abuse thrown at it since it was called into existence in 1963, still works like a Swiss clock. |
Here's a Hipstamatic shot of it that I (for once) liked:
![]() Apllied the "Holga filter" to it and it shows the wear quite nicely like this. |

Hi Jarno,
It's my favorite lens, a Konica L-Hexanon 35/2.0 LTM lens. 1,000 made in 1996. Same design as the Nikkor 35/1.8 from the 1960s, identical to the Hexar AF lens. I always wonder where they all ended up, I never saw a second one, online or in real. |
Beautiful lens BK.
|
As it happens, matsuiyastore on ebay are selling a second one, but its gone up significantly since I bought mine!
|
Beautiful setup Buzzardkid.
I will add my recently acquired M2. Bear with me, very new Leica user, but avid photographer and follower. I finally pulled the trigger after much search and figuring out what best suited me. :) I added a few items (beep and thumbs-up). I have a CV 35mm f/1.2 Chrome for now (not pictured .. yet!) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
A thumbs-up on a film body? Now I've seen everything!

Just rest your thumb on the lever advance. The thumbs-up accessory was invented because digital M's don't have a lever advance.

Thanks Shyoon! |

The sale of the original Thumbs Up started before Leica launched the M8. Having a Thumbs Up and a wrist strap means you can hold the camera in one hand all day long without tireing your gripping fingers. Thumb on the Thumbs Up, fingers on the self timer lever and off you go. @huntjump: Nice M2, you'll love it! A 35/1.2 Nokton will go with that very nicely! |
tomorrow photowalk
My friend's coming to town, and tomorrow we will be doing a photowalk around Tokyo. It's a season of Sakura blooming this week  I will be using these two leicas and lenses for a photowalk! One loaded with B&W film and one more with color film, and I am so excited! :D:D
Rgrds, Beta ![]() |
hah thanks buzzard, it does feel better than the lever, although i get what Shyoon's saying too. Going to have to just try it out and see.
Very excited about the 35mm, although im in the market for a smaller lens for more portability. I'm thinking the cv 50 f/1.5 if i get my hands on one. Beta, nice setups! I would love to be walking around tokyo right now. |
