New covering from aki-asahi. Went on well and fit good too. So much better looking than the original shark skin.

Luna Pro S - but I think that's the same thing, just a different name? This one does take modern silver oxide batteries though.

Oh, and here's another closeup to stay on topic :D

Nice M4 !! :) Nice setup you have ! What is lens ?

I've got a Jupiter 8 50/2. A quite nice sample, but I think I'll get something better in the long run. Next lens will probably be something wide though, right now I'm using a borrowed Voigtländer 21mm and it's a ton of fun...

Very nice camera indeed!

Thanks Menos! I've wanted one since the day they were announced. I need it like a hole in the head but I'm really pleased so far :)

can one ever own enough auxiliary viewfinders and other shoemount gizmos?

M2 is wearing a CV II Meter and Tewes VF, both on a CV double shoe adapter, with a Summitar and nifty barndoor hood and the famous Mr. Soft Release (RIP, Mr. B) ... the IIIf has a Summaron with hood (appropriately dented and dinged) and a 35 Canon VF. The M8 has a Canon 50/1.4 with matching hood and, for no practical reason whatsoever, a Kobalux 21 and CV 15 VF (both on a Thumbs Up double shoe).

Completely silly.

...

some old finders have shoes on top of them- I think one of the Leica zoom ones and the '60s Zeiss Ikon 21mm finder have them. that would be fun to stack finders with... or two double shoes...

robklurfield 02-25-2011 20:42

I know, I know.... but probably not a good idea to give me any ideas or encouragement here. Best that I stop before I shop again. Though, my wife, noticing the barndoor hood earlier today said, "that looks cool." A comment that was thankfully not followed by any questions about what it cost (it was cheap).

Haha, good Idea, I'll try stacking my Leica Meter MR-4 on top of my VIOOH finder :p

Thanks. It's a pretty rig, for sure. That's the original Zeiss hood. I believe there is a rectangular option as well.

Not sure what you're commenting on, since you didn't quote, but since it directly follows my answer to a hood question about my camera, I'll assume it's regarding my camera.

It's a Zeiss hood. It's a Voigtlander finder, however.
