Thanks Simon. Wouldn't be possible to shoot together with nice vintage gear, some time, some where?

To me the M3 is not vintage gear but timeless gear.

JHP, I love the look of your MP! Looks really nice!

Thank you, yes it's a bit banged up along the edges. But I bought it to take photographs so I like it looking like that.
:)

errorlogin 02-06-2011 12:55

Yes, I can understand that.

I bought my M3 also to take fotos, but then it arrived nearly like new from the first owner. :):( The Summicron 35mm, which came with it was obviously never used. Maybe not even mounted to the camera. Only the 50mm was.

I am afraid of using it. It would be a pity to give scratches to this old camera. If it would be a new one, i would not care, too. But this one spend 50 years of it's life and I dont want to be the one to scratch it....
So I kept using my old Voigtländer Vitomatic IIICS. :)

....and now I am looking for a heavily used Leica, that I wont be afraid of using it.:)

Kind regards,

Jan.

Not at all, it was sitting on Arizona Sandstone which is very soft.

richreidjr 02-08-2011 20:39

My first Leica. M3 with 35 summicron .

Rico 02-08-2011 22:44

Rich, I'm sure you mean Summaron 35/3.5. :) The chrome bezel and focus tab are giveaways. Lens code: SOONC-MW. Eyes are required for proper RF convergence.

richreidjr 02-09-2011 06:35

OOPS I did mean summaron. ! Thanks Rico.
I had just been drooling on ebay over some summicrons so I had summicron on the brain....
