Today I bought a SBLOO 35mm viewfinder to accompany my 35mm Summaron. I think it looks beautiful!
|
IIf that I got from my Dad, who traded a banjo to a friend who got it from his dad who picked it up in Europe.
It had been sitting the friend's mantle until my dad got it. He found loading it a pain so he gave it to me. I've used it off and on for 5 years now. It gives good results. I bought the finder to go on my Kiev when using my 35mm lens. I think it looks good on the Leica and leave it there even though I don't need it. ![]() |
A banjo for a Leica. That's a great story. :) And a sweet camera. Good for you.

OK, I admit it also. I am addicted to my iiif.
Besides loving its mechanical precision feel, it makes me think about lighting and exposure vs. always trusting a meter and letting the camera tell me what it wants to do. Here is my iiif with col. Summicron and other accessories. I also like using this lens on the M5 with bayonet adaptor. My other fun lens for this one is 50 2.8 Elmar. Best, Ray |

Welcome to RFF, Austerby! Your pride and joy... very nice.
John - "digithings" - ha! I recently bought an Olympus that's really nice, easy to use, etc. I'm just havin' a hard time getting into it. Anyway, you've got a good trio there. |
Real or Fake III?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi I have attached a image of the top of a III, Just want to know if this is the real deal? I have not seen the DRP right under the Leica logo before?
Thank you Jon |
Both my IIIc and IIIf have DRP written directly under the Leica script logo (well, infact the IIIf has DBP (Deutches Bundespatent) instead of DRP (Deutches Reichspatent).

Thanks HUBBL,
I wasn't sure what I had, thank you |

No... Not a real 3 Crown, but its Leica 100% and maybe a factory made.
The Serial is early pre 3 Crown so I'm not sure. Anybody want to weigh in. Ron rglaze@att.net |

My Barnack from 1932. Leica II accompanied with Nikon FE. I have to confes this Leica does not get much action, I get a bit dizzy looking through the small viewfinder :o |

I add another shot from same Leica. This time accompanied with even older item, Illinois Watch Co's pocket watch, my great grandfather brought back to Europe from America. Leica I got from eBay, so unfortunately I dont know any stories it has to tell. Yes I know, I am a big sucker for old things... |

I figure being the new kid on the block, I should jump right in here and show my latest toy. $49.00 from a local thrift store. I will probably be squeezing everyone for lots of information, so consider yourselves warned. ;-)
No. 304168 I completed a number of repairs on her . . . Cleaned the fog between the lens elements. Cleaned up a fungus type spot on the front element. Reattached the vulcanite covering which was loose. Adjusted the curtain tensions to the point where there is no more banding on the film. Sewed up the case and replaced the missing leather strap. Ad hoc. Unresolved problem - flash sync not working properly. Should be an easy fix. I learned a lot working on this puppy. A big howdy from Oklahoma. |
49$ is a very, very good price for an original Leica TM. Even with the added flash contact. And it looks great! Congratulations!

I noticed the "L" on the end of your handle. "Mein Familienname ist Lampe" (I think I said that correctly). That's a very common family name in your parts, is it not? |
