Samsung NX200 like/dislike?
Anyone here use an NX200? It looks fairly similar to the NEX7 but without a viewfinder, and considerably cheaper.
Opinions welcomed. |
From what I've read on the www, the Samsung NX series has a too large flange distance to allow the use of adapters for M-mount lenses, as well as probably other RF mount lenses. I presume legacy SLR lenses won't be a problem. It seems to me that Samsung missed out here, as the price is right and they have a nice big sensor in there, compared to m4/3.

Okay, that would explain it's lack of popularity with many people. I was considering it primarily as a pocketable camera to use with one of the pancake lenses.
Can anyone out there comment on image quality? |

I know that sensor is older than nx200 etc etc etc, but what do you want to know about quality? Lens is very good and very cheap and must have in Samsung pocket. Really. Samsung NX10, ISO800, Samsung lens 30mm f2 ![]() and this from Samsung NX10 with LTM Canon 50/1.2 at 1.2 ![]() So... some LTM lenses works with Samsung NX. I know that Canon 50/1.2 and Jupiter-3 50/1.5 works perfectly, because I have experience with theese both. I heard that some 35mm LTM lenses will work too, probably LTM Canon 35/1.5. 28mm and wider not work. M-Mount is unfortunatelly impossible in Samsung NX. |
almost happy
I was so pleased with my NX100 that after a few weeks I "upgraded" to an NX200.
First impression - it is almost too small for big hands (got used to that now). Second impression, despite lack of EVF option the screen is useable in all but very bright sunlight - will experiment with optical VFs as I only use the 30mm pancake on the NX200 (NX10 purchased for use with zooms). Very happy for the time being as the image quality far exceeds what I could successfully translate to a print. Cheers, Robin |

NX200 is new generation of NX body with better UI and very convenient to use over NEX imo. |
sample images
Here are some random samples -
Fish'n'chips and sunset with the 30mm pancake, train with the 20-50 kit lens. Cheers, Robin ![]() ![]() ![]() |
