The Golden Rules of RFF
Rule No. 1 - No "Flaming"
1) You will not post any messages to the forum or send by PM (private messages) that harass, insult, belittle, threaten or flame another member or guest.

Rule No. 2 - No "Trolling"
2) You will not post any topic that disrupts the peace and harmony of this forum. Don't create meaningless threads with the sole purpose of starting a dispute. This includes messages in profiles, avatars, and signatures. Do not argue your point over and over again.

Rule No. 3 - No "Spamming"
3) You will not double post or cross-post the same message in multiple forums. You will not mass-PM or mass-email multiple members of this site the same message. You will not post for the sake of increasing your post count or hack count.

Rule No. 4 - No "Offensive" Posts, Links or Images
4) You will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, or otherwise violative of any local or international laws. This includes links in your signature, profile, bookmarks as well as posted images, photos and avatars. Staff will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not.

Rule No. 5 - No Self-Promotion
5) Members will not post any messages anywhere on this site that are primarily for the promotion or advertising of any website, forums, email address, business, MLM, activity, or other entities that you have an affiliation with (ie. no self-promotion). Additionally Self-Promotion links will no longer be allowed in your signature. This is intended for commercial establishments that try to advertise on RFF without going through the proper process. Promoting a website or product that you are in some way involved with, without divulging that involvement, is sufficient reason to be banned. This does not apply to sponsors, who have paid for advertising in order to promote themselves on RFF.

Rule No. 6 - No Public Posting of Copyright Material
6) You will not upload, attach or post any material you are not the creator and/or copyright holder of. It is however acceptable to post links to publically accessible material.

Rule No. 7 - Be NICE to one another!
RFF has a worldwide membership coming from many different backgrounds, offering an unlimited number of viewpoints. Treat each other with civility and respect. Rude remarks, and worse, have no place here.

What happens if I break a rule?
If you get a PM (private message) from an administrator or moderator, please give it careful consideration. The administrators and moderators of RFF have the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread, post or posted image. Administrators and moderators may modify or end (ban) membership privileges at any time, for any breach of the rules or for any other reason with or without warning or notice. If a member is banned, it is generally without public announcement or acknowledgment.

What if I see a message posted that breaks a rule?
Please report these posts or threads to the administrator or moderator of the forum by clicking on the "Report" link at the bottom of the offending post or thread, and the post or thread will be reviewed and action taken as soon as possible.

What is my responsibility as a member?
Please keep these rules in mind when you post. The administrators and/or moderators have the right to change these rules at any time without notice. It is the responsibility of every member to remain updated with the current rules.

Why have rules in the first place?
The rules are there for the protection of the community as a whole and to prevent abuse, conflict and disharmony within the forums.

Classified Ads

IMPORTANT: It takes about 15 to 20 minutes AFTER you pay for your ad, for it to show up. Please be patient!

If you placed an ad, and used paypal for payment, it is very important that you follow the process all the way through. Failure to do so, will result in your ad going into an approval required state. The correct process, will redirected back to the ad page where the ad is approved.

IF you are having problems with your classified ad, PM or Private Message Classifieds, describing the problem. Please allow 24 hours for a response.

Can I Promote my Website or Forum or Product on RFF?
RFF is for photographers. Linking back to your photography website is fine. However you may not promote your commercial web site or forum or photo related product on RFF unless you are a RFF sponsor. RFF sponsors are easily identified by their banners on the RFF home page. Websites selling products or cameras as a "hobby" are considered commercial websites for these purposes. If you want advertising on RFF, get it the old fashioned way, buy it! Promoting a commercial website or product that you are involved with, with or without divulging that interest, is sufficient reason to be banned. The exception to this rule is a member promoting themselves as a photographer, such as linking your profile to sites showing your own photography, or sharing events in your photographic life such as shows or publication.
