I just have a couple of questions about camera processing set-up if anyone can help:
1) Is there a way to make images shot using the 6 or 3 fps shooting modes save like the rest of the images? Currently I'm getting them saved under 'S...' (instead of 'D...' file names).
2) Is there a way to stop the camera holding the metering it takes when the shutter is half-pressed? I'm used to focussing with a back button, and getting used to the focus lock back button and switching to manual when I need to. Guess it will take a while to get used to the shutter button doing other things than just being a shutter button, which was the previous set up I had.
3) I did read beforehand there wasn't a way to turn off noise reduction (shooting RAW here). Is the best setting for RAW '-2' if I want to reduce noise afterwards in Photoshop?
4) I don't have the Adobe Camera Raw version able to handle the X100s RAF files. I'm using the Adobe RAW Converter to change them to DNG - does this result in any quality loss? Do I need to keep the RAF at all?

- Forgive me, but is Harry Fleenor worth considering?

It seems there is a mixed report (as per the norm) online where people are suggesting their Maxwell screen was a breeze to fit at home and no noticeable issues in terms of focusing, whereas Harry Fleenor alludes to issues that could arise by essentially inexperienced retrofitting.

So: Maxwell? - With or without Harry Fleenor? ;)

The reason I am considering him, is that I will be in the US for a period of about a Week, so the plan was to collect my 3.5F, use it and then before I fly home post it out while in the US to Harry Fleenor for him to fit the screen and then ship to me in the UK.

Like I said just thoughts going through my head, but I do fear going from the likes of a Acu-Mat to a standard Rollei' screen could be frustrating.

This Olympus patent just points to things that may one day happen or it may not. I don't think I would ever wear a pair of google like glasses to start w/, but that is just me. Looks like a sort of heads up like display on the glasses electronically transmitted from the camera.

Or on the other hand, the already existing camera in the google glasses.. Time will only make it better.

Either is not what i am interested in, but I was wondering what others felt about it.

Would they go to a Bayer sensor camera after all this time? For me the only thing I could think of was a monochrom camera does not need Bayer or xtran...

Anyway I would jump all over a monochrom version, but if turns out to be a Bayer version I am going to go wtf.

That took me down the rabbit hole and I... My first rangefinder ever was a 35SP that I owned for a few months before it was stolen out of my car. That took me down the rabbit hole and I replaced it with a Bessa R2A and then a Leica M5. I sold everything about 3 years ago to concentrate on shooting DSLRs again.

Last week I found a mint 35RC at the local thrift store for $15, I greedily snatched it up before even testing it to make sure no one else could get their hands on it.

So far I have put 3 rolls though it and it is such a joy to use, reminds me why I loved the 35SP so much but in an even smaller package.

I haven't got the rolls back from development yet but honestly even if they didn't turn out (using sunny 16) I would still be happy with it. There's cameras that you use to get great pictures and then there are cameras that you use because they are so simple and intuitive and it doesn't hurt that the Olympus rangefinders are capable of both.

I'll post some pics when they come back from the shop.

It's only 5 or 6 months old. I've been reluctant to get into the Leica M9 ilk due to issues that have cropped up but which are perhaps exaggerated because they're brought together on the forums.
I like shooting film for holidays but often I would appreciate the immediacy of digital for day to day photography for sharing and getting to know my lenses more intimately. I wouldn't like to sit post processing a holiday's worth of images.
Returning to digital with a couple of Leicas has been in my mind for sometime. My initial return to film was out of exasperation at the size of Nikon DSLRs - I got myself a small film Leica and you know how that path always goes, suddenly you've acquired a lot of M lenses. And I found that I really like the look and use of film and started to feel a little nauseous when I thought of digital photography. So, with this opportunity of a digital ME at £1200 less than a new one I have a question for you all. Has anyone been on the fence about going to Leica digital but then found that they really enjoy it and perhaps even wish they'd gone digital sooner?
N.b. This isn't the Leica ME which was stolen from Red Dot Cameras earlier this week!!
