Two different x mount bodies to be announced this year.. One w/ xtran sensor and one w/o?

Would they go to a Bayer sensor camera after all this time? For me the only thing I could think of was a monochrom camera does not need Bayer or xtran...

Anyway I would jump all over a monochrom version, but if turns out to be a Bayer version I am going to go wtf.

Anyway this rumor is a bit harder to believe. What do u think?

My first rangefinder ever was a 35SP that I owned for a few months before it was stolen out of my car. That took me down the rabbit hole and I replaced it with a Bessa R2A and then a Leica M5. I sold everything about 3 years ago to concentrate on shooting DSLRs again.

Last week I found a mint 35RC at the local thrift store for $15, I greedily snatched it up before even testing it to make sure no one else could get their hands on it.

So far I have put 3 rolls though it and it is such a joy to use, reminds me why I loved the 35SP so much but in an even smaller package.

I haven't got the rolls back from development yet but honestly even if they didn't turn out (using sunny 16) I would still be happy with it. There's cameras that you use to get great pictures and then there are cameras that you use because they are so simple and intuitive and it doesn't hurt that the Olympus rangefinders are capable of both.

I'll post some pics when they come back from the shop.

I know there are quite a few fans out there, anyone want to post samples while I wait for mine to come back?

I've been offered a Leica ME for Ģ3000. It's only 5 or 6 months old. I've been reluctant to get into the Leica M9 ilk due to issues that have cropped up but which are perhaps exaggerated because they're brought together on the forums.
I like shooting film for holidays but often I would appreciate the immediacy of digital for day to day photography for sharing and getting to know my lenses more intimately. I wouldn't like to sit post processing a holiday's worth of images.
Returning to digital with a couple of Leicas has been in my mind for sometime. My initial return to film was out of exasperation at the size of Nikon DSLRs - I got myself a small film Leica and you know how that path always goes, suddenly you've aquired a lot of M lenses. And I found that I really like the look and use of film and started to feel a little nauseous when I thought of digital photography. So, with this opportunity of a digital ME at Ģ1200 less than a new one I have a question for you all. Has anyone been on the fence about going to Leica digital but then found that they really enjoy it and perhaps even wish they'd gone digital sooner?
N.b. This isn't the Leica ME which was stolen from Red Dot Cameras earlier this week!!

I know a lot of folks trust in her (or DAG) to fix their cameras but I note that Sherry has some for sale on her site. I've been perusing online locally, here, and on *ugh* Ebay looking at M6s and, after seeing a few locally and a few on ebay, it seems her prices may not be "that far off" (when you consider the stuff I've seen requires shutter speed adjustments, rangefinder adjustments, film advance adjustments etc.).

Just curious if anyone has ever bought a camera from her and what she is like to deal with.
Is she more of an Email or phone person?

Cheers,

Found a Leica Mini II at a flea market this weekend. A 'made in Japan for Leica' P&S. It proudly shows the red dot and the fact it has a 35mm f3.5 'Elmar' lens.

Googling a bit I found little info on this camera and how it compares to popular fixed focal lenth P&S cameras like the Yashica T4/5 and the Olympus Mju-II (Stylus Epic).

I will definitely will put a roll through it, but has anyone experience with this? Who produced it (my guess is Minolta), how good is the lens?

Cheers,

My lad is happy with the Canon SLR we picked up for bobbins from a local charity shop. But we were chatting, and he let me know he liked the APS cameras we used to have after we were burgled and the stupid insurance company insisted we bought at Jacobs, who said 35mm was pretty much dead, and APS was the future. Jacobs are now the past, but there it is.

Anyway, I got to thinking. The camera the lad was referring to particularly was not the ugly but a bit clever Canon zoom compact we had, but the Minolta Vectis S1. Not sure what attracts him, but the complete automation fascinated him when he was little. He does have Aspergers, which may be a factor, but he would always want to watch as I put a cassette in.

Anyway (again), I was thinking, as I said. There were some quite nice APS cameras, which can now be had for not much. The Contax Tix comes to mind, for one.

So does anyone still produce/process APS film, or would it be a case of buying up the OOD cassettes on ebay until they dry up?

And was there ever an APS rangefinder? That'd be a curious rarity if any were ever made.
