I love to shoot chromes and am interested in trying out dr5 processing with some Kodak Tx 400 - my favorite BW film. I plan on shooting the film at 400 iso but am especially unsure if this rating will cause over/under exposure in processing. I have been having a hard time finding adequate information on the dr5 process and I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice you have to offer.

The only problem I'm having is getting the scans wide enough to capture any of the film edge. It seems to be locked into 60mm max. Has anyone with this scanner been able to get a broader scan, spocket holes and everything?

The Leica MM, as expensive and out of reach as it is, makes a lot of sense to me and many others I'm sure. You only have to look at the number of images posted in the Monochrom thread to realise these photographers who have ponied up for the MM are having a ball shooting only black and white with the only dedicated black and white digital camera on the market.

With the latest Sigma firmware update my DP2M added monochrome as an option to the raw picture menu and that's where it's been set since the update. With the LCD turned off and an accessory finder fitted I now have my 'poor man's Monochrom!'

After the release of the MM it was suggested that other manufacturers may follow suit with dedicated black and white offerings ... but this appears to be not happening! Whether this is based on the limited success of the MM who knows ... how do you base a judgement on market acceptance for anything Leica makes because as we all know they persue the money trail in their own unique way!

Is there room for other dedicated monochrome cameras in the market ... or was it all just a whim?

Aloha from Hawaii everyone,

I searched RFF to see if anyone had started a thread showing off what they have done with multiple exposure mode on the XE-1, X100s, or X-Pro. And I couldn't find anything.

I've owned my X-Pro for a few months now and honestly, didn't even notice the "Multiple Exposures" option in the menu till last week. I gave it a whirl and was surprised with how awesome it was. Overlaying the previous exposure and giving the user an option to accept/reject the second exposure was a very nice, well thought out touch.

I've got a few more to share soon, but for now here's one of the first shots I took using multiple exposure. I used the Fuji 35mm 1.4 and tweaked color/curves in LR4 but otherwise this shot is pretty much what the X-Pro's multiple exposure mode can do:

I'd love to see what everyone else has come up with using this feature on their Fujis!

one does not forget the often repeated motions of shooting a manual focus film slr...and when one initiates that sequence of actions after a long period of dormancy...it feels good!

say wha?

i went out today, with my 2 xd11 bodies (one black and one chrome) along with a 28 and 58 attached...and it was a very nice experience.
the winding of film and the loud kerplunk of the mirror brought up memories of old...
i was even stopped by a lovely young lady who wanted to admire my gear and talk about old film cameras...what a pleasant experience that was.

i need to finish the film in both cameras and make sure that all is well...so far the cameras have behaved admirably, the meters are in complete sync and the lance straps just look so sweet on all that metal!

being inquisitive and having a big mouth has finally paid off...

i like camera bags...and man bags too for that matter...they are so handy to have and use...lots of room for your stuff and in our case, as photographers, room for our gear.
if you like to carry lots or a little, a bag helps to organize and make it a much more enjoyable experience.

i have small bags that hold a sony rx100 and an iphone 5 and i have bags that can hold every peice of gear that i own...in the basement are a couple of aluminum cases from when i shot weddings...i have bags for a day trip, a weekend away and for moving if i must!

i hope to review bags, talk about bags and help others with their bag questions/problems/issues and concerns...
what i don't know, i'll research or make things up...
just like always...

and so, welcome...nice to see ya!

(A long story involving TSA at SFO, and a positive test for explosive materials, and, well, I don't have the film any longer...)

Any ideas where I might find some? I'm staying on the edge of den Haag, ( by Kijkduin), will be in the centrum of den Haag tomorrow, and will be going here and there over the country the next couple weeks visiting friends and family. Some place near or in den Haag would be ideal, but any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks everyone.

Evening chaps,

I've been lurking here for a year or so, because it's a brilliant wealth of knowledge.

I need help finding a compact, reasonably original flash for my Olympus Pen EE2.

I love the look of the one below, but it's as rare as hens teeth and requires bulbs.

Does anyone know of a similar flash? I'm not a fan of 'tall' flashes. I think they made pc connected one that attaches to the base plate but I can't find a picture or name for that.

Any help is much appreciated.
