Hi, all
I recently got a black paint M2, the seller said it is LEICA refurnished and it has a asterisk after its serial number as you can see below.

But some other guy here said it's not original Leica BP, due to the silver shutter guard and a shorter rewind knob.

So I post pics here and want to hear your opinions about this M2.

... and it's nearly over!

Sometimes the routine of developing and scanning gets on top of me and I just have to stop, which often means I won't take a photo for several weeks and often a couple of months. When I sensed this mood happening again I made the decision to get a DP2M in the hope that it would keep me shooting ... because the only alternative is my D700 and I've never enjoyed using that camera casually. I think I'm now ready to start shooting some film again and logically the OM-1 beckons ... it's a camera that immediately puts me back in touch with analog photography ... small, simple, very tactile and highly competent.

This particular hiatus has been different though ... I've learned to embrace digital and see it as a personal alternative if film ever did go arse up and it took an unusual/quirky little beast like the DP2M to make me genuinely feel this way. In a different world, if it came to the crunch, I could live with this as my only camera.

Anyone has examples in 120 format with some rolleiflex shots? I have seen trix 400 pushed to 800 with great success shooting wide open. I will try next week anyway but anyone sharing their experience/photos would be great. I have arcos 100 and edu 400 in 120 format.

I wanted to add a strong yellow filter, and maybe an orange one, to my Hasselblad bag. The only yellow filter on eBay is priced at $175.00. I have yellow and orange filters, good ones, in Series VIII. So I ordered a couple of Hasselblad brand filters in colors that are not in demand, like 80A, for just 7 or 8 bucks each. My intention is to unscrew the retaining rings with a spanner, drop out the blue filter, and drop in a series 8/63mm glass. Great idea, no?

Problem: Hasselblad doesn't put any slots in their retaining rings! No place to engage the spanner tips. It does appear to be threaded, so apparently they threaded it in when they made it. I don't see how they did.

Any suggestions?

I could just order some Tiffen used filters in B60. At least they are made to come apart. I 'd rather have the Hasselblad ones, as they are of higher quality.
Really, how could they have installed the retaining ring if there are no slots to engage the spanner tips? And how are you supposed to back them out?
Does the weight difference mean that Cosina has followed Leica, making the chrome lens with brass exterior and the black with a lighter alloy?

Hello,

I am looking to purchase a Saab 9-2X Aero in the next few months, but first was wondering what you current Saab owners' feelings were concerning availability of parts as Saab has closed down.

What are your plans moving forward?

Do you have confidence that parts will be available if I purchase a Saab, or would it be foolish to do so?

I live in MA and there are many Saabs around here, and thus many Saab repair specialists so at least I have that going for me...

Thanks.

I cleaned the port on both the female and male with compressed air. I also tired it with my Bronica SQ-AM, which I am trying to sell. It works fine with both lenses and all shutter speeds.

I don't really want to bring it in to be serviced because I am guessing it will cost a lot. So any suggestions?

This very old footage of London has been going around in the past few days, with everyone seem astonished and excited to see how London was some years ago.
Made me think how London on the one hand is chasing film makers (and photographers) as terrorists, on the other celebrates these marvels of the past. I'm sure a lot of people would not want to be filmed or be suspicious of the filmmaker.
