Anyone know what this screw does on the Rokkor 40 mm lens?

Just got this lens, but seems to be a little more play in the upper barrel section than another I have.

Thought maybe the screw tightens up the barrel (only one visable), but thought I would ask first before screwing it in (did a little, but decided to put it back where it was before doing something I shouldn't)

I've done a CLA on the newer (assumption) version which does not have a screw head in that position...

Piece of useless information really... anyway, inside the mine I could not find anything to reduce the its play.

Only other Rokkor model I've seen is the CLE model with the s/n on the side

It's not a lot of play. Tiny bit. Just figured the screw would reduce this
