We might have had a picture thread - long time ago; let me start another one for this great lens.
This is with my PI version:

I have this lens too and I love it. I have two, in fact, a silver and black one. Now I am looking for 50/2.5 in black, too, but I don't know if that's available.
I also like the 28/3.5. Do you have it? And by the way, I use the LH-2 square hood for my Skopars. I just bought a brand new one of these last week, actually and now have 3 LH-2's.
A couple from a cookout with some friends.
Some recents shots with the PII version:

The two above are on Plus-X, iso 320 in Diafine. The next shot is a "modern lens on old film" photo, taken with Kodachrome 64:

Love this one.
That skopar is the best value for money lens in the world. If i ever get another M rangefinder it'll be one of the only lenses I buy.

I really like the 35mm focal length, and wanted to try a lens that I could use in low light without flash. One appeared on Ebay a few weekends ago for £220 and I decided to give it a try. In the meantime I bought a Leica M4-P, so I hope to compare the new and 'old' lens in the coming weeks.
Best regards,
RoyM

Another cpouple from this very capable lens. I recently sent it to a friend to try out to give some more time to playing with the Ultron. Now that it is gone, i miss it more.
A few new ones, developed in diafine. There should be more of these coming soon.

I finally am getting another rangefinder (a Bessa R2 w/ the 35 f/2.5 PII) and I've been wondering how good the lens itself is. It appears that it's a pretty solid lens, but I can't help but wonder if it will be too small for my largish hands?
The 35/2.5 PII M mount is incredibly good for color IMHO. I have an older LTM version coming, and hope it is half as good!

Ted, Here's a color shot taken w/ the older "classic" LTM version of this lens. I later sold my copy, but then regretted it and got the PII version.

IF you're in Tokyo and want one of these lenses, there's a chrome one in Fujiya right now. It comes with the LH-2 hood.
Thanks all, the LTM version seems great, am looking forward to testing it out in a couple of days.
I also preferred the CV 15 and 21 in LTM. Had both 15s, kept the LTM, only had the CV 21, which I like a lot for it's size and rendering, but it does flare when shooting into the sun. If I used 21 a real lot, I'd probably try the Zeiss ones out as well.
The CV 35/2.5 PII was a great all around lens, but I sold it, because at the time, I had too many 35s, and the others were as good, and faster, but I still have a lot of great 35/2.5 PII photos.
Here are a few more shots from this lens (with the M8)...

I've shot a couple rolls now using this lens and my Nokton 50mm. I have to say though I wish it were a bit faster, I really love this little lens. It's quite a decent performer on film!
I like the fact that you can shoot a brick wall with this lens and it still shows no distortion at all.
is it better than sumaron 35/2.8?

I'm trying to get into street photography, I need to mix things up and try new things. I was walking in Santa Monica and I saw this trio interviewing people. I got in as close as I comfortably could with my camera scale focused and snapped one frame. Managed to get this so I was happy :), though obviously I wish their legs weren't cut off, but I was walking when I shot it haha

Wow there's so much detail in your scan! I've only got an Epson V500 to work with (which is adequate in most cases for the web) but It appears that Plustek is quite a good scanner huh?
May have to look into one of those in the future ;)

If I may answer instead--kinda late in Germany now--it's in Solms, per the text. Which explains the Leica street sign :)
Thats right. In the last post you can see the camera fair in Solms. The best place for used Leica stuff.

Sorry for entering this thread without any photos made with the 35mm Skopar. I'm thinking about buying one as cheap and compact second 35mm and I'm not sure, if there is a big difference between the first LTM- and the second M-version.
According to the specs the M-version is smaller and lighter, but how about sharpness and image quality. Has anyone here a good comparison of both versions? Thanks in advance:

There is no optical difference between the two versions, as far as I know… I'd take the M39-version, because it's cheaper and you can use it on LTM-cameras, as well as on M-cameras… :)

That's what I thought, but the dimensions are quite different, so I was not sure. The size would be an important part of the choice. I'd prefer the smaller one, if there i no optical difference.

With cheap I meant as a really cheap companion to a Summilux, so 50$ difference would not mean so much to me.
Thanks for the answer so far. Any additions about possible IQ differences? Also I'm not sure, if the PII has a focus tab. The image on the Voigtländer site does not show one. Any comments to that?
It's been a while since I've posted anything here, but here are some recently scanned ones.

While I generally loved the Canon 35mm 2.8, the soft corners wide open weren't really my preferred look. I took several shots wider open and up close to see how the VC performed in my first roll with it. I'm definitely much happier with the performance.

Leica M9 + Skopar 35mm f/2.5
ISO 400 @ f/4 @ 1/1800
it is a delightful lens. Works well on M4-2, M9, and GXR-M cameras. Very crisp, very petite.
I think it would be appropriate to say that this little lens does a great job of not standing between a photographer and excellent photos.
Love the work you guys are posting here.
I have been reading all the post and wow! really good pictures! Congrats to all!
This lens seems to be a jewel... I'm looking for a little 35mm and I'm thinking about this lens or de C Biogon T* 2.8/35... has anyone used them both?
Hello
The Skopar is a little softer in the corners
at wide apertures than the Biogon, centre is
very sharp.
But it is nice and small, light and has built
in hood.
-TC
Thank you tonyc!
I'm thinking in a LITTLE lens in 35mm for travelling with a film camera: slides (Agfa 100 Precisa CT) and B/W (Argenti Pan-X).
Regards,
Xabier.

These are all great shots and just may have answered my question as for a good everyday lens for my Bess R2. I sold my Nokton 40mm/1.4 ( I thought I was going to sell both, then decided to keep Bessa) now I want a wide lens to accompany my newly acquired Jupiter 8.
What are the significant diffrences between the LTM and the M-mount? There are two on KEH right now and a couple here. I feel a GAS attack coming on.

From the archives ... (Feb 2007, Sapporo. 100ACROS, M6, lab developing)
I later replaced this lens with the 35/1.4 Summilux pre-ASPH but was looking for a companion recently (E39 filter and closer focus). I had my eye on various 35/2.0 Summicron lenses but since prices are insane I remembered this little gem ... Ordered one today and it will be the first lens that I finally regretted having sold ... :)

LTM makes sense on a Barnack indeed, I am not sure if I would get along with the tiny focus pin of that version ... therefore I opted for the P II (again ...)

I wasn't expecting the bokeh in this pic, but I guess I had it close to wide open. This lens is always reliable and sharp!

Another one from earlier in the year. I really like the punch this lens can give. Sometimes I feel that it can get a bit fiddly because of the small size, but it always delivers very nice images.

This is about 15% of the negative! Neopan F (40 iso) and a Bessa R. This is with the first version of the Color Skopar 35f2.5 - the "pancake".

When I see sample shots of this lens (which I have, btw), I am always dissuaded from getting the 35/2 Asph 'Cron. The Skopar is just superb. My copy is the 'C' version, I think, the one with the OLLUX looking hood and that's just beautiful looking too.
That is why yesterday, I picked up another black paint M4 for just 157k yen. A 35/2 Asph would have cost me a lot more!

I really like these last three pictures. Did you use filters ? I'd really like to scan some of my pictures, but I need to get hold of a scanner first...

You'll have to excuse my developing and scanning skills. Some in Diafine others is Caffenol. Can you guess which are which? :-)
jean-bob,
no filter used.
